THE NEIGHBORHOOD & SURROUNDINGS
THIS LOFT IS LOCATED IN THE BORN DISTRICT - not located in the Gothic building
The Born Market was the wholesale produce market of Barcelona and it closed around 1971, when the market was moved to the outskirts of the city. Then, the neighborhood went into a decline until about the 1990's when art galleries and shops started moving into the neighborhood.
The past decade has been the BOOM of the Born District. Many sought after flats from both local and foreigners have made this neighborhood one of the trendiest and coolest in Barcelona. You will find it easy to move around this neighborhood. There are great restaurants, cute boutiques and a wonderful ambiance.
The Born Market was reopened in early 2014, it has become a plaza with all the Roman ruins below it and the Museum of History of Barcelona.
We are lucky enough to be on the quiet side of the Born - next to the Ciutadella Parc, with views of the old market and surrounded by a pedestrian-only street. The restaurants and specialty shops are down the street, which means quiet days and nights.
